Roger Herman, Keeping Good People. Herman is known as the "father of employee retention" and has published several books on the subject. His web site has numerous resources. Speaks and consults on the subject.

Ken Tanner is an Atlanta-based consultant who focuses on employee retention and teambuilding. The author of several HR books, including Retaining Employees, Ken consults and conducts workshops on retention.

Linda Henman, How to Become The Boss No One Wants to Leave (forthcoming; publication expected fall of 2005); several articles on her web site. Speaks and consults on the topic.

Kathy Maixner is a Portland, Oregon-based consultant specializing in staff recruitment and retention.  She has 24+ years in the staffing industry and understands how to attract and KEEP the right people for the right jobs.

Brian Lee of Custom Learning Systems Group has several resources for reducing turnover in the health care industry, including books and seminars.

Joan Stewart has an inexpensive booklet, "107 Tips for Keeping Valuable Employees" which is a sequal to "113 Tips for Recruiting Valuable Employees."

Stephen Tweed and Catherine Fyock focus on the home care industry in their e-book, Strategic Staffing: Finding and Keeping the Employees You Need in Home Care.

The Chrysalis Corporation "helps you select and retain top performers" through pre-employment assessments and developmental assessments.

Adrian Gostick and Chester Elton have several books and presentations on employee recognition, including Managing With Carrots: Using Recognition to Attract and Retain the Best People.

Dale Collie, Winning Under Fire: Turn Stress into Success the US Army Way. Dale is a personal friend of mine who uses his experience as a former U.S. Army Ranger and later corporate executive to show how business leaders can reduce the stress their employees feel, helping them to increase their effectiveness.
